ok good ok

I booked a pick up time, a night before for 17.5 Euro at 5:20 on 17th september 2022.
Uber cancled the pick up time before, with the excuse that the credite Card is not valid anymore, but it was valid. I had to take the same taxi few min later on 5:30 for 25 Euro with the same Credite Card !!!
The extra payment of 25-17.5=7.5 Euro, was not fair.

Darwin Uber

Darwin Uber - charged us waiting time when we were the ones waiting! Go figure - the driver was in the wrong place and we had to message him and find out where he was. Hidden charges - admin fee and NTG levy now appearing on Uber charges doesn't give you this information before you book, needs to be upfront so you can see your total cost.

I was charged with a cleaning fee of…

I was charged with a cleaning fee of £80 because my friend dribbled some sick in the back seat just before I WAS able to get her out. We were all under the influence of alcohol and yet i feel like i’ve been taken advantage of. I watched my friend only dribble some on the seat, if i was charged with a small fee of £10-£15 then i could understand or let it go but this is unacceptable to me, especially as a student who now cannot afford to buy food or clothes for about a week.

Yesterday I have taken uber ride from…

Yesterday I have taken uber ride from sakinaka to chembur.when I booked the cab, the rent was showing 226 rs, once I have reached at my destination the cab driver told me the rent is 382 rs.

I was trying to reach uber customer care but their is no customer care contact available that you care reach immediately. Uber app is totally fraud. Very bad experience.

Charged for a journey we never received. Feels a lot like a scam to me

Firstly- the app on the 20 odd ocassions Ive attempted to use it has NEVER got past the circle whirring around where ever I have been in this country- Ive never got an uber this way.
Secondly my niece advised to instead book through browser. So last Friday in Birmingham city centre I booked an uber for Holiday Inn hotel to the gig we were going to. Immediately arriving in 2 minutes came up. So I immediately informed the driver (Henry Murhabazi) we would be a few minutes leaving the building. And we dashed. I ran so fast down stairs in order not to miss the taxi or the gig. We got outside the hotel where there is ample and dedicated taxi drop off and driver nowhere to be seen. I messaged the driver. I phoned the driver. He ignored all my messages and calls. Then around 10 minutes later decided to finally inform us he was at the back of the Holiday Inn ? Ran back into hotel asked reception where the back actually was (and it was like a back alley) Then received a message the driver had gone and because Id cancelled- Though I clearly hadnt I was being charged £4.35 for the privilege of being completely and utterly messed around by a driver and never receiving the sevice I requested.
I will be contacting uber AGAIN about this as when I did on the evening I received a snotty generic message back saying they can only be contacted by the app- why provide the email then?
Uttterly disgusted by uber taxis. I feel extremely cheated.
Ive tried contacting uber in app and they immediately put £4.35 in my wallet. Ha ha ha- so they have refunded nothing and kept my £4.35 as credit to them. SO now I have requested the money back into my bank account and will update this review if I receive it. A service thats made me sick in my stomach.

Uber is dishonest and misuse the position as private Hire operator.👎

I am an Uber driver. The company charge rider very high fare but the drivers get only %30-%50.
Although the contract between Uber and drivers is %25 commission fee. Unfortunately the new system software allow Uber to charge drivers more.
For example, I picked up a rider the fare shows £26 when I asked the rider how uber charged she said it shows £40 but most of the time from my account uber takes £45-£50. In different occasion the rider was charged £11 but I got £7.30 which is 66.5% so uber charged me a commission fee of 33.5%. UNFAIR
So even if there is surge rate the drivers don't get it.👎
I complained at 6pm by 11pm I received a message that I was using mobile while and had verbal altercation with rider. Untrue! Made up to shout up driver.👎
I stopped working with uber because the company is dishonest and misuse the position as private Hire operator.👎

Pierre arrived on time

Pierre arrived on time, but the app did not have my correct address in it. Probably because it was my first time using the app, and I think it used a GPS pin off my phone, so the address was a few houses off.
Got a message from him, and we quickly corrected the problem.
Got us to our destination with plenty of time to spare.

Q:

Can you make decent money driving with Uber {$20 an hour}?

A:

After calculation you are getting not more than 30 percent after all expenses and uber fees.and taxes you have to file every year. On top of that your car will go more than 400000 on milage that means You have to buy another car for yourself. If you include that cost. It does not worth it

by Barnes568 - April 15, 2016

A:

All those answers are correct. If you want to be a slave to Uber working 70 to 80 hours a week, you can make some money. Your best off becoming an Uber driver, then building your network of customers that you can drive off the books. I currently have 3 drivers. Drivers make more, riders pay less. Uber is great on the surface but you soon realize that 20 percent of your rides are overcharged or riddled with issues. Like drivers cancelling on you, but guess what, Uber still bills you forcing you to open an email covo to get your money back. Uber's billing practices are highly illegal but who is going to stop them. The government the CC companies and Uber, are all getting rich of the common man, go ahead take them on, lol.

by Leslie828 - April 05, 2016

A:

After deducting the 0.54 cents that would cost to drive one mile, and taking into consideration the miles you drive between rides, particularly back from far away places where it's difficult to get riders, plus the waiting time between rides, the net gain per hour, is about $6 an hour on a busy day. And this is a fairly optimistic evaluation. It could be just $5 an hour. Uber is great for riders and for Uber, but a total rip off for the drivers. A minimun wage job would be more profitable. We have been complaining about how bad Walmart pays and treats their employees. Think again, Uber is slave labor in plain view. It's just a community service to the riders by misinfored drivers.

Q:

This is my first time using a vehicle ride service from Uber. I need to travel to the airport for an international trip. My 11 mo old baby will be travelling with me. I have three questions - 1) I do not want to carry an infant car seat because we won't need a car seat at our destination. Can I hire a ride or a car that already has a car seat? Is there an extra charge for the car seat? 2) We are 2 adult passengers and a baby with 4 check in bags, 3 carry on bags, a diaper bag and 2 backpacks. What kind of vehicle should I look for? Is there an extra cost for luggage? 3) Do the drivers expect a tip for using their service? Information on these is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

A:

I have painfully discovered another Uber fraud, which surprises me a great deal. You can Take a trip on Uber with the pickup and destination defined, and in our case this trip is frequently taken iwith Uber in about 25 minutes and $25. But, if the driver doesn't show the trip completed, the continued time and travel (possibly for Lyft?) just stacks up, In total they put $479 on my card for over 20 hours and 50 miles. Our bad for not catching the charge until the credit card bill arrived. I went right to Uber, but in a series of emails questioning why the account is in my girlfriends name and the card in my name, they created all all sorts of complexities asking question after question in multiple emails rather than issue a credit. I had to turn it over to my credit card company.

A:

I suppose i'm one of the unusual uber drivers. I carry a baby seat that converts to a booster seat, and an umbrella. Tipping is not required for uber, and uber driver are required to explain that tips are not necessary when offered. All of your baggage should fit in a full sized sedan, provided you have a driver that is professional enough to have an empty trunk. I drive a full size luxury suv, so i have not had a problem with anyones luggage.

by Mcdonalid595 - March 17, 2016

A:

Hi. I've never excepted a passenger that was too young to use a seatbelt. I suppose 4 to 5 years old is the youngest rider that I've had. Yes, Uber drivers do expect tips if they deserve it in the rider's opinion. If you are going or coming from the airport, and you have two or more passengers with luggage I recommend that you order an Uber XL just to be on the safe side. The reason I say this because if you order an Uber X and your luggage doesn't fit you will be charged for a cancelation fee, and be forced to order and wait for another Uber.

Q:

I have someone refer me to a $100 reward for signing up to be an uber driver is this a skam?

A:

Not a scam, but Lyft pays up to $ 500 for the same referral, so if you have Lyft, make sure you sign up for Uber and Lyft at same time so that your completed trips will earn you the driving bonus at the same time.

Q:

Hi. I want a ride from JFK airport to Bohemia NY. I have 2 children with me along with spouse. I want to ask if Uber provide car seat for childrens?

A:

When I drove for them I didn't have one but if a customer had one I would use it

by Terry895 - November 06, 2015

A:

The times I have used Uber, I have had to use their trunk as well. I have not seen any car seats in the cars or stored in the trunk, so my answer would be no. Uber can be pricey, I would look for another ride, as someone else mentioned

by Shawn735 - November 05, 2015

A:

I hope all is well and a safe trip for you and your family. Unfortunately Uber drivers are not required to carry car seats for passengers. If you have an opportunity to request a Uber SUV then there might be a chance that your driver will be more experienced and have at least one available for you. May cost a little more for Uner Xl or Uber plus but safety is paramount for you and your young ones. You could also try contacting Uber Support and request a driver with those amenities. Just a side note friends and family may also be able laon you one
